One more example why Patriot | Court Upholds Expulsion of Christian Counseling Student Who Opposes Homosexuality! Del Norte, CO - Does Patriot Bible University "choose" not to be accredited? Fox News reported July 28, 2010, “A federal judge has ruled in favor of Eastern Michigan University that removed a Christian student from its graduate program in school counseling over her belief that homosexuality is morally wrong.” {Article} World Magazine reported July 27, 2010 separately, “Augusta State University tells a counseling student to change her beliefs or face expulsion”. Jennifer Keeton, 24, doesn’t believe that homosexuality is biological, but instead is a lifestyle choice. As a Christian, she also believes it is a morally wrong choice. In response to her views, Augusta State University, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in counseling, has ordered Keeton to enter a remedial program or face expulsion. { Article } Alliance Defense Fund reported March 26, 2010 that a Georgia counselor was fired by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention because she would not agree to affirm homosexual behavior as morally acceptable. { Website } Both of the above students and the employee were represented by Alliance Defense Fund attorneys. The common thread for the decisions against the Christian students and employed counselor amounted to incompatibility between the employer’s—school’s beliefs and their employee’s—student’s beliefs. The institutions hold to the humanist belief that homosexuality is an innate trait one is born with; the Christians hold to homosexuality being a lifestyle choice of sin. If one were to dig deeper it would be found that the school’s
accreditation's policies and the governmental agency’s employment
policies are providing the foundation for the organization’s
discriminatory behavior under the guise of anti discrimination! Their
solution to “fix” offending students is to put the students and
employees in a remedial program (a.k.a. brainwashing with humanist
values to rid them of Christian values). In his 48-page opinion, Judge Steeh said the (Eastern Michigan) university had a rational basis for adopting the ACA Code of Ethics. “Furthermore, the university had a rational basis for requiring students to counsel clients without imposing their personal values...” The ACA Code of Ethics imposes a corporate (and unbiblical) value upon the counselor and the school educating the student. This same issue of accreditors and the U.S. Department of Education imposing unbiblical corporate values upon educational institutions and employers also applies to school teachers and chaplains—especially those serving in the military. We observe how the present day minister must make a decision to study and work under non-Biblical dictates or under Biblical values based on the Bible. Patriot degree programs equip and train those interested in pastoral work, Christian counseling, and Christian education. The school has remained steadfast from submitting to the non-Biblical values imposed by government and corporate accreditation. Enrollment Questions?
