Enlist New Students! by Student Services, 9 May 2007
Many of our students get excited about the great education they are receiving and they want to share their experiences with friends and relatives. We reward students that have a direct impact on getting another person to become a Patriot Bible University student. If you are responsible for another person becoming one of our students, we will give you a $ 50.00 credit voucher to be used for your own future book fees and/or tuition payments! All you have to do is make sure they put your name on the Application Form as the person who referred them to us. So, share your satisfaction and claim the credit!
When you share Patriot Bible University with others, you are helping others spiritually grow. When others grow, Christ's kingdom expands and He receives the glory.
Undergraduate vs Graduate by Student Services, 9 May 2007
Sometimes we are asked, "What is the difference between an undergraduate degree and a graduate degree?" That's a fair question. The first higher-education degree after a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential is referred to as an undergraduate degree. The usual degree is a Bachelor's degree (an Associate's degree is also available). At Patriot Bible University, a Bachelor of Arts degree requires 64 courses to be taken and is offered in four Ministerial Studies majors and four Christian Education majors.
Graduate degrees are earned after a Bachelor's degree is completed. The first graduate degree is a Master's degree and the second is a Doctorate. Patriot Bible University offers a Master of Arts (MA) degree and a Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree in any of five majors. The MA degree requires 10 courses and a thesis. Our DMin degree requires 12 additional courses beyond the Master's plus a dissertation.
Multiple degrees may also be taken in different majors.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. - Matthew 6:33
Patriot: Grade-Point Averages by Student Services, 4 May 2007
Some students are seeking a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. While that is commendable, it places the emphasis in the wrong place. Patriot Bible University considers knowledge, wisdom, and spiritual growth to be the more important goals of study. Grades actually reflect more of a mastery of the mechanics of taking courses than they do an understanding of the material. So, slow down, absorb the material, pray for wisdom and insight, and don’t worry about the grade.
Since graduation occurs whenever a student completes all the work for his or her degree, Patriot Bible University does not rank students by grade-point average as many schools do. Also, Patriot Bible University places no emphasis on grade-point averages at commencement. There is no valedictorian or salutatorian recognized at our commencement ceremonies. So, relax and learn!
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. - Matthew 11:28
Patriot: Grading by Student Services, 4 May 2007
Each course our students receive has a workbook to be filled in and returned for grading. After the workbook is graded, the Registrar records the grade and the workbook is mailed back to the student. We pay the postage for all materials leaving Patriot Bible University’s shipping area except for international shipments, which the student pays. Students pay the postage for the workbook’s return to us for grading.
We suggest you make a copy of your workbook before mailing it to us. Occasionally, a completed workbook gets lost in the mail. If that happens, we will have to ask you to fill out a new workbook. So, protect yourself by keeping a copy of your work.
